Good Morning Friends and Church Family,
I received the following correspondence this morning from our Bible College, Master’s College and Seminary (MCS). I ask that you would be in prayer for this organization, Staff and Students. This is the institution that trains and equips leaders for pastoral ministry across our fellowship.Future generations of pastor of North Shore Church will likely be trained here.

In addition to praying, you can donate to MCS and receive a charitable tax receipt to help cover some of this uncertainty. You can donate on our website by clicking on the button below, or you can send an e-transfer to “giving@thenorthshore.church” with the memo “MCS”. Cash and cheques are accepted in-person on Sunday.

Thank you for reading along and praying for a positive outcome.

Blessings,

Pastor Gary Adduono

Dear MCS Family,

I am writing to share an important development affecting students at Master’s College and Seminary, and to invite you to stand with them in prayer.

On October 6th, the Ontario government announced a pause on Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) funding to private post-secondary institutions, following concerns arising at certain private career colleges. We support the government’s responsibility to protect the integrity of student assistance. However, MCS is not a private career college or part of the sector under investigation. We are an accredited Christian post-secondary institution established under our own provincial legislation, yet our students have been affected by the broader pause.

Approximately 45 of our students are affected, representing an estimated $150,000 in tuition funding this fall alone. If the pause continues, we anticipate a comparable shortfall in the winter semester, with further impacts in the spring. Some students also rely on this assistance for living expenses.

Behind those numbers are people preparing to serve as pastors and Christian leaders, the next generation of ministry workers for our churches and fellowship. We are committed to caring for them by absorbing the current tuition shortfall, rather than passing this unexpected burden on to them, but this is not a sustainable solution.

This challenge comes during an encouraging season of growth. Through our partnership with Horizon College and Seminary, combined enrolment has grown 22% over last fall, and our church hub network continues to expand.

We do not want this disruption to interrupt the preparation of future Christian leaders. We are working with other affected Christian institutions and engaging constructively toward a resolution, but with no clear timeline, we must also consider more enduring and dependable ways to make Christian higher education affordable.

For now, would you pray with us?

Pray for the students facing uncertainty, for wisdom as we discern our next steps, and for a constructive resolution.

We will share more as our response takes shape.

Our mission remains unchanged: preparing Spirit-empowered leaders with the church, for the church.

Thank you for standing with our students.

With gratitude,

Jeromey Martini, PhD
President, Master’s College & Seminary

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
It’s September 30 That means across Canada, citizens are pausing to reflect on Canada’s relationship with First Nations people. The PAOC may have never ran a residential school, but our fellowship has endeavoured over the years to build strong and healthy relationships with First Nations people. Below you will find a letter from Dan Callado who leads a PAOC sponsored ministry training school and serves our fellowship with grace and integrity to better partner with First Nations for effective First Nation’s ministry. Please join me in reading below and take a few moments to reflect, remember, and pray for our First Nations brothers and sisters, and for the mission field in our backyard. Blessings, Pastor Gary Adduono Letter from ABA Director Dan Callado Please see a copy of a letter from Aboriginal Bible Academy Executive Director, Dan Collado penned for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause as a Fellowship to honour residential school survivors, remember the children who never returned, and reflect on our shared path toward healing. It is a sobering reality that this year marks just 30 years since the last residential school closed in Canada. As followers of Christ, we affirm that every person is created in the Imago Dei—the image of God—possessing sacred worth and dignity. Facing painful truths about past harms, including the spiritual and cultural impact of the residential school system, is vital to living out the gospel with integrity. Our commitment to this journey is ongoing. In 2012, PAOC leadership and Indigenous leadership established a foundational milestone through a national Forgiveness and Reconciliation Event, formally acknowledging past failures, insensitivities, and silence regarding residential school harms. We invite you to read the full 2012 Apology Statement as we continue building on these commitments.2012 Reconciliation EventLetter of Apology, Forgiveness and Reconciliation 2012 Reconciliation is not a single day of observance, but a long-term commitment to listen humbly, honour diversity, and walk together in restored relationships. May the Holy Spirit grant us grace and wisdom as we endeavour to journey together in a good way. In Christ, Dan Collado Indigenous Guiding Group Coordinator Mission Canada, PAOC

Pastoral Letter
Trying something new is different for everyone. Sometimes it is scary, sometimes it is overwhelming. For those who are tired, it might make you anxious because there is more to do! For those with energy, it means new opportunities and a challenge to be conquered. AS we explore publishing posts on our website, I feel both those things. Excitement for streamlined communication. Creative ways to share thoughts and announcements, but also a slight overwhelm having to learn something new. It is a calculated cost and question “Will this be worth my time in the long-run and make life and ministrybetter?” I think the answer is yes. So far I see the opportunity to be more organized and intentional while also having space to be creative in a way that connect all of us throughout the week no matter how busy life gets! This space will be a place to share and communicate personally with you. Not so much a blog but a personal letter to you from me your pastor. Until the next letter or post, See Ya Real Soon! Gary
