What is a Soft Launch?

I am so glad you asked. A Soft launch is what Walt Disney World did in 1971. Walt Disney World originally opened with a strategic soft opening on October 1, 1971, ahead of its official grand opening dedication on October 25th, 1971, to test operations and manage initial crowds.

For us, it is an opportunity for our church leaders and volunteers to get a feel for what it will take to set up, pray, and get ready for our regular Sunday evening gatherings in Schreiber. We certainly will be inviting guests but on the down low to get our feet wet. We will do everything that we plan to do when we officially launch later this year.

Sunday September 30, 2026 at 5:30 pm is our first planned soft launch date. We will work on loading up the vehicles with food and equipment, drive to Schreiber, Unload and setup, and make room for what God wants to do in our neighbouring community.

This will help us get a feel for what we are going to be doing regularly and to learn what works and what doesn’t work. Your help and feedback will be crucial to make this successful.

Would you prayerfully considering coming along on this adventure? If you are unable to come, would you pause and pray at our meeting time? We know God wants to reach people far from Him, we know God is calling us to be His hands and feet.

Much like Isaiah the prophet we say:

Here I am Lord, Send Me!

Pastoral Letter
Trying something new is different for everyone. Sometimes it is scary, sometimes it is overwhelming. For those who are tired, it might make you anxious because there is more to do! For those with energy, it means new opportunities and a challenge to be conquered. AS we explore publishing posts on our website, I feel both those things. Excitement for streamlined communication. Creative ways to share thoughts and announcements, but also a slight overwhelm having to learn something new. It is a calculated cost and question “Will this be worth my time in the long-run and make life and ministrybetter?” I think the answer is yes. So far I see the opportunity to be more organized and intentional while also having space to be creative in a way that connect all of us throughout the week no matter how busy life gets! This space will be a place to share and communicate personally with you. Not so much a blog but a personal letter to you from me your pastor. Until the next letter or post, See Ya Real Soon! Gary
