As of writing and publishing, we are scheduled to get this done on Saturday September19. You can still give to this project. Indicate “Building Fund” on your MEMO of e-trasnfer or envelope. You can use the giving link to give through our website. We anticipate the repair to cost $1,600. This would get us about 24 feet of wall repaired (more than needed as far as we can tell). However, since we have equipment on site, It would be the best time to do more of the foundation work. There could also be some surprises once we dig down. Give towards this project - Any amount helps, another $1000 gives us another 24 feet. Serve - Materials are ordered, We plan a work crew in the next two weeks. Building Projects and Repairs The front corner of our building is in need of repair. The spring snow melt and heavy rain revealed a leak. We will be digging up the corner in the coming weeks. We anticipate the repair to cost $1,600. This would get us about 24 feet of wall repaired (more than needed as far as we can tell). However, since we have equipment on site, It would be the best time to do more of the foundation work. There could also be some surprises once we dig down. Finally, a benefit of this project that adds a bit of cost, is our ability to add some rigid foam to provide better insulation. While this is just a start and the initial impact will be minimal, as we do this project over stages, it will greatly increase our building’s efficiency, however, the basement will always feel cold 🥶. Here are the ways you can help with this project. Give towards this project - Any amount helps, another $1000 gives us another 24 feet. What is a Soft Launch?
What is a Soft Launch? I am so glad you asked. A Soft launch is what Walt Disney World did in 1971. Walt Disney World originally opened with a strategic soft opening on October 1, 1971, ahead of its official grand opening dedication on October 25th, 1971, to test operations and manage initial crowds. For us, it is an opportunity for our church leaders and volunteers to get a feel for what it will take to set up, pray, and get ready for our regular Sunday evening gatherings in Schreiber. We certainly will be inviting guests but on the down low to get our feet wet. We will do everything that we plan to do when we officially launch later this year. Sunday September 27, 2026 at 6:00 pm is our first planned soft launch date. We will work on loading up the vehicles with food and equipment, drive to Schreiber, Unload and setup, and make room for what God wants to do in our neighbouring community. This will help us get a feel for what we are going to be doing regularly and to learn what works and what doesn’t work. Your help and feedback will be crucial to make this successful. Would you prayerfully considering coming along on this adventure? If you are unable to come, would you pause and pray at our meeting time? We know God wants to reach people far from Him, we know God is calling us to be His hands and feet. Much like Isaiah the prophet we say: Here I am Lord, Send Me! More specifics and tactics to come! But for now as always, I am Ready to Serve,
